how skinny is to skinny

How skinny is too skinny?

So many young teens struggle with self image. Starving yourself has never been the answer. Girls go to extremes just to look like the perfect model, only to end up looking worse than skeletons. This is the question we asked, “how skinny is too skinny “?

Anorexia! Bulimia! malnutrition!

So many young girls are pulled into the so called ‘"perfect image world", whereby the smaller you are the more beautiful you are considered. Young girls have fallen in to this trap, and are starving themselves to look “hot”, like their favourite Celebs. Looking at the modelling world, the models on runways are unrealistically small. They have taken the word skinny to a new level. We thank the Spanish model industry that has introduced a new weight law for their models to keep a healthy image for their modelling world . Self image, self esteem. When skinny is just not enough! Teenage girls want to be skinny. I’m sure you have heard this topic over and over and over again and still are hearing it. You might not be the smallest girl in the world, actually you might be far from it. Maybe you’ve tried so many ways of losing weight and in the quest of losing the weight, you lost yourself instead of the weight.
There's nothing worse than looking at someone who was the same size as you and see them looking half your size. You feel as though you are a failure, sometimes you even feel as though you have done something to deserve this punishment because it feels as though you are being punished.
Losing weight is the biggest phenomenon in the world right now. Can we really look at stars like Kim Kardashian and Nonhle Thema and measure our weight loss to theirs? Well no, you cannot look at them and say you want to lose the weight as fast as they did or say you want to start the same diet. I know it sounds so easy saying it but trust me, it is far from it; first thing you need to understand is that these celebrities have the money and time, they hire trainers and dietitians to plan their diets and even hire chefs to cook for them, so what about you the normal every day woman on an average salary or university student, can you really compete with these celebrities? One other thing, having great bodies is part of their job descriptions, so unless you have a job that pays you to have a body like theirs. The best way to get the best results for losing weight are:
Keeping a food diary- writing down everything you eat, setting goals for yourself ,understanding you body type Look at your environment, making up a strategic plan on how you are planning to lose the weight. E.G. exercising and eating less, assessing the plans and setting a time frame and after this, implementing it all. Love you!

Don’t expect too much from yourself too soon, take it one step at a time.
Remember no-one will ever appreciate you, until you appreciate yourself. Your self concept and confidence can be sensed by many and usually it takes the first impression to make people set standards about you, judge and characterize you.
The demand of wanting to be skinny is rising every day. I’m sure we have all heard our friends and families saying, “you look good the way you are, you don’t have to lose anything”, I think until you can say that about yourself, you should not listen to anyone. Losing weight should not be a priority, but instead being healthy and looking good should be.

You should be happy with you and let all else fall into place.

”happy to be plus Look healthy and be happy, you don’t need to be a size zero to feel good. When is skinny too skinny? Young girls ,it’s time to love how you are and stop looking on TV to show you how ‘perfect’ looks.
